How did you first learn about Snap36?
Chris asked me if I would be interested in doing some accounting for Snap back when she and Jeff started the business in 2008. My kids were still young so I was not ready to go back to work at that time. Fast forward to 2013 when Snap was looking for a controller… Colleen Ehrhardt contacted me to see if I would be interested and here I am. Timing is everything!
What was your first job?
My “true” first job was as a papergirl for the Elgin Courier News. I think I was in 3rd/4th grade at the time. I delivered papers with two of my brothers and made great tips because I was a girl. After college graduation, my first job was as an auditor for KPMG, then known as Peat Marwick.
Favorite book and author?
I do LOVE a good book… My favorite author is Jodi Picoult. I love that she takes current issues and weaves a story around them, sharing the differing perspectives of everyone involved.
What is your favorite family tradition?
This is both my most/least favorite… My family and father-in-law make homemade Italian sausage every year. We actually have a curing room in our basement. It’s a day of good family bonding but creates quite a mess!
How do you recharge?
My favorite recharging activity is going to my in-law’s lake house in SisterLakes, Michigan. I love to be out on the water with my family. Reading is also tops on my list. If I have a good book, I can zone-out for an entire day.
Favorite travel spot?
My favorite spot is St. Thomas. We have rented a home on the island twice. I love the beaches, neighboring islands, and restaurants. We really enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning.
What is your favorite thing about accounting?
I enjoy the accounting world because I like things to be in order and the flow of information to be logical. That’s just how my mind works.
What is the last TV show you watched?
I hate to admit this, but it was the Bachelor. I watch with my daughter. It’s great people watching!
Have you ever met anyone famous?
I met Chris O’Donnell at his brother’s wedding on the North Shore. His brother, Billy, went to John Carroll University with my husband and I. Nice guy and great family.
Who is your biggest role model?
This one is easy… My parents are my role models – my dad for his work ethic and my mom for her unwavering kindness toward everyone.
What has been your favorite part about working at Snap36?
I have two favorite things about Snap36. The first thing I love are all of the awesome people who work here of all ages and backgrounds. The other is the fact that every work day is different, with new opportunities and challenges. I love that there is always something new around the corner. It keeps things interesting!
